Fundraise for Us

Why Your Support Matters

Raising a family is one of life’s most rewarding journeys, but it is also one of the most demanding. For many parents in Renfrewshire and Inverclyde, the “village” we all need isn’t always there. When social isolation, mental health challenges, or financial hardships take hold, the everyday hurdles of parenting can quickly feel like an impossible mountain to climb.

No parent should have to struggle in the dark. HSRI provides compassionate, one-to-one support that meets families exactly where they are—led by their own choice and dignity. By offering a non-judgmental hand to hold, we help parents navigate their darkest days and find their footing again. Your support ensures we can continue turning isolation into connection and crisis into confidence, giving local children the stable, nurturing start they deserve.

Fundraise for Us

When you fundraise for HSRI, you’re doing more than raising money; you’re giving local families the chance to breathe a little easier. Your efforts help us reach parents who are isolated, struggling, or simply needing someone in their corner.

Whether you host a community event, take on a personal challenge, or get your workplace involved, you are a vital part of our mission. You don’t need prior experience to help—just enthusiasm and a belief in the power of community.

How Your Fundraising Helps

Every pound raised helps a family feel supported, seen, and less alone. By fundraising for HSRI, you help provide essentials, run our warm weekly groups, and offer life‑changing support during the earliest, most important years of a child’s life.

Your support also funds the extra moments that mean everything:

“You see the difference you’re making every week—small moments that mean everything.”

Kiltwalk

HSRI Team at the Kilwalk event.

Taking part in the Kiltwalk is one of the easiest and most joyful ways to support Home-Start Renfrewshire and Inverclyde. By picking your tartan and joining this “community of ordinary people doing extraordinary things,” you help turn isolation into connection for local parents.

Whether you walk on your own, bring friends, or create a team, every step you take helps us provide the stability and nurturing start that children deserve.

Your fundraising supports our warm weekly groups and those vital “extra” moments – like our big summer trip and Christmas party – that create lasting memories for families who might otherwise go without. Join us to help families move from crisis to confidence and ensure no parent in our community has to struggle alone.

The Hoolie

Tables set up in the Greenock Town Hall for the HSRI Hoolie event.

Our biggest fundraising event of the year began in 2024 in Greenock Town Hall, where we welcomed 178 people to celebrate HSRI. In 2025 we welcomed 200 people, again to Greenock Town Hall to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Home-Start in Inverclyde.

In 2026 we celebrate 25 years of Home-Start in Renfrewshire and will be hosting The Hoolie at Ingliston Country Club on 4th September 2026 to celebrate this huge milestone for our organisation.

The Hoolie is not just a fund-raising event, it’s a chance to celebrate our achievements, our volunteers and make connections in our local communities.

If you would like to find out more about The Hoolie or to get involved please send us an email to: events@hsri.org.uk

Community Events

We love being part of the celebrations that make Renfrewshire and Inverclyde such vibrant, welcoming places. Whether we’re at SMA’ Shot Day, the Gourock Garden Party or another local event, you’ll find us chatting with families, sharing what we do and connecting with the community we’re proud to be part of. These events help us raise awareness, meet new volunteers and celebrate the spirit that makes our communities so special.
