Our group support volunteers help us run warm, welcoming weekly groups where families can meet others, share experiences and feel part of a community. From baby groups to peer‑support sessions, you’ll play a key role in creating a safe, relaxed space where parents and children can thrive.
As a group support volunteer, you’ll help create the friendly, inclusive atmosphere that makes our groups so special. You might welcome families as they arrive, support simple play or craft activities, chat with parents who are new or feeling nervous, prepare refreshments, or help staff set up and tidy away.
This role is very flexible – you can support a group every week, once a fortnight or even once a month, depending on what works for you. Some volunteers choose to do group support instead of home‑visiting, while others enjoy doing both, gaining experience across different parts of HSRI’s work.
Check out the various ways you can support families and children in Renfrewshire and Inverclyde:
Offer one-to-one emotional and practical support to parents in their own homes. It’s about listening without judgment and being a steady, friendly presence.
Use your professional skills to guide the vision, governance, and direction of HSRI, ensuring we can continue delivering meaningful support.
Get involved by running events, asking for sponsorships, or getting local businesses involved to help fuel our mission.
Volunteering with Home‑Start changes lives, for families and volunteers alike.
We’d love to welcome you into our community.
